"Writer's Block"

Some will tell you that technically, a poem is anything divided into lines, which would mean that this a poem because I’m about to hit
Enter

but that this alone is not.

Still, there are some
who argue that
even that definition is too limiting.

Perhaps next time I am struggling
to write a poem
I should just draw a picture of my impatience,
or find the meaning of existence in my dog’s eyes
or walk outside and take a breath.

Or maybe that’s just a cop out
and I should turn off the television
and get back to work.
